Welcome to your new school!
In just a few minutes’ time, you’ll have sent – and received – your first Parent Hub message! To start with, we’ll be using Channels – the cornerstone of your new communication strategy.
What is a channel?
Channels are dedicated notice boards for sharing updates, news, and messages that keep your parent community informed and engaged! You can create as many as you like, so parents only receive updates that are relevant to them.
1 Create your first channel
Call your channel something simple, like “Mr Smith’s Class” or “Year 3”, so parents can see at a glance what it’s for.
2 Follow your school on the Parent Hub app
Simply download the Parent Hub app on your phone or tablet, sign in (using this account) and tap “Join a school” when prompted. This optional step is a great way for you to experience part of the parents’ side of Parent Hub.
3 Send your first channel post
Now that you’ve got your first follower, it’s time to send out your first post! Feel free to experiment as you get comfortable with the system - you'll be able to archive everything before sharing with parents.
Why not attach a picture, PDF or Word file? Select your channel from the CHANNELS header in the navigation bar, then tap 'Create New Post'.
Once you've viewed the post in the app you can check the read count in the bottom corner of the post.
4 Archive your first channel post
We’ve all pressed Send, then realised we’ve forgotten to attach a document! Archiving removes a post from view in the app, so you can go again. To archive, tap the action button in the corner of your post, select 'Archive post' and then confirm.
5 Archive your first test channel
As well as archiving individual messages, you can also archive whole channels. This will remove every post and any reference to the channel from the app. To archive, tap the action button in the corner of the channel Settings panel, select 'Archive channel' and then confirm.
What’s next?

and more, as well as the option to switch to Parent Hub Plus or Pro in future.
