This guide is for the person, team or agency managing your school website.
This guide contains some detailed instructions to make it as easy as possible for you to embed the Parent Hub web widget on your school's website.
The widget is an iframe which can be housed anywhere on the website. There is no authorisation required - simply embed the code and it'll serve up shared content from the school's connected channels in Parent Hub.
For more on how the school manages the shared content and channels, please read this guide.
Before you start
To complete the steps in this guide, please have ready:
- Admin access to the school's website, e.g. Wordpress admin
- The school's Parent Hub web widget embed code
You can find this in the school's Parent Hub Portal > Admin > Marketplace > Integrations > Web Sharing Widget > Manage or ask a Parent Hub admin user at the school to email it to you.
Embedding the widget
Find a suitable location on the website to house a column of around 400 x 800px. The content within the widget is designed to scroll vertically and "lazy load" additional posts, but the width should allow the widget to display without scrolling horizontally.
If you use a modular page builder, add an HTML block and simply paste the widget embed code in the HTML.
Adding styling
You may wish to style the iframe with CSS, for example to add a border:
Stack the HTML block housing the iframe in a container and add a title (e.g. Info Box) above to help introduce the content:
Troubleshooting
If you find the widget displaying a message about there being no updates to display, please contact the school or email support@parenthub.co.uk with the WS code you see in the bottom-left corner and we'll be able to advise:
